De-Grease Your Laptop with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

awesome tip for cleaning your Laptop from Lifehacker De-Grease Your Laptop with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser If you're tired of shiny, greasy spots all over your laptop you can safely cut through the grease with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Here's how it works.

Earlier this week we asked you for tips on cleaning off-hand oil from your laptop's trackpad and keyboard. There were a lot of great suggestions, but one of the more popular options was using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. We decided to give this a shot.

My trackpad wasn't super oily but I've still never been able to get the grease off of it. After just a few seconds of wiping with the magic eraser, the trackpad was completely grease-free. Thank you readers! The video above shows the whole process wipe for wipe, but overall it's pretty simple:

1. Wet the magic eraser with lots of water.

2. Squeeze out the excess water.

3. Wipe your laptop's trackpad and keyboard a few times.

4. Dry off your laptop's trackpad and keyboard.

What's especially awesome is that you can reuse it. It's after the magic eraser looks like a mangled clump that you have to throw it out. According to the box, it'll keep working until it looks like your cat coughed it up.

Another problem solved thanks to readers like you.
