Welcome to StreamCoach support.

StreamCoach is a native macOS coaching monitor that helps livestream creators improve their camera image before going live.

Getting Started

StreamCoach helps you review your camera image, capture still frames, and get clear feedback on what to adjust next.

To begin:

Choose your camera or camera profile
Confirm the live preview
Import a calibration reference image if you have one
Enable lighting tips if desired
Press Analyze Shot
Review the recommended adjustments

What StreamCoach Analyzes

StreamCoach looks at still frames from your live camera preview and provides practical feedback on things like:

Face brightness
Color temperature
Background brightness
Saturation
Tint
Lighting balance
Overall image style

StreamCoach analyzes still frames only. It does not continuously upload video.

Camera Preview

StreamCoach uses a native macOS camera preview powered by AVFoundation. It is designed around creator workflows, especially setups using the Ecamm Live Virtual Camera.

The preview is built to behave like a video monitor, keeping your camera image properly framed without stretching or distorting the shot.

Calibration

You can import a reference image for each camera profile. StreamCoach uses that reference to compare against your current camera frame and estimate adjustments for brightness, contrast, saturation, and tint.

Imported references are stored locally on your Mac under Application Support.

False Color and Scopes

StreamCoach includes visual monitoring tools such as:

False color
Waveform
RGB parade
Vectorscope
Skin-tone reference line

These tools are designed to help you understand your image without needing to think like a broadcast engineer.

Studio Map

The optional Studio Map gives StreamCoach more context about your setup, including:

Main camera position
Overhead camera position
Front lights
Wall lights
Windows
Subject position

This helps StreamCoach provide more useful suggestions, such as which light to adjust instead of giving generic advice.

Style Chat

StreamCoach includes a Style Chat field where you can describe the look you want. The app can use your latest analysis, camera profile, calibration state, and studio setup to give more targeted feedback.
