Apple Event, Meta Connect & OpenAI - What’s Coming in September?

September is shaping up to be one of those months where several big tech storylines collide at once. Apple is expected to lead with its September 9 event, with the iPhone 17 lineup, Apple Watch updates, AirPods Pro 3, and the usual question of whether we finally get a clearer roadmap for Apple Intelligence, Vision Pro, or even Apple glasses.

Meta Connect follows on September 17 and 18, and that is where the wearable conversation gets especially interesting. Meta already has momentum with Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses, and the next wave of rumors points toward new colors, Ray-Ban Gen 3, and possibly Hypernova-style glasses with a built-in display and wrist control.

OpenAI does not have a confirmed September event in this video, but the chatter is worth watching. Between reports of an OpenAI browser and the Jony Ive partnership around a possible AI device, September could give us a better sense of where phones, glasses, browsers, and AI-native hardware are all headed next.
